Maintenance Free Backyard in Rye, NH

Paver Patio and Turf Lawn Transformed this Beachside Backyard

Emerald’s customer in Rye, NH was looking to create a backyard oasis that would require minimal maintenance. It also had to meet local guidelines for permeability to reduce run-off due to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean.

The result is a large patio and retaining wall with turf off the driveway creating a space for family gatherings after a day at the beach for many years to come.

Techo-Bloc materials were used for the project: Blu 60 shale grey patio, Blu 80 shale grey driveway, with onyx black borders. Retaining wall is Mini-Creta in nickel grey and onyx black caps.

Backyard before
Yard patio with border leaves plenty of room for family gatherings.
Backyard after with patio, granite steps, and turf installed.
Turf borders the patio to reduce maintenance.
Block retaining wall and granite steps provides more space for entertaining.
The driveway runs up to the patio border for a seamless transition.
